Various Venues in Woodbine, IA

From pies to pastries to slushies to caramel, the last Saturday of every September is dedicated to a festival of everything APPLE! Since 1988, people have traveled the historic Lincoln Highway and the scenic Loess Hills byway to reach Applefest in Woodbine, IA!

Along with our apples, we host one of Iowa’s largest car shows, which has attracted over 350 makes and models from as early as the Model T Ford. We put on a craft show, hold an outdoor market, and also support our many local business vendors… It’s a great time to start your holiday shopping! If food is your passion, we offer a wide variety of delicious cuisine, sure to fit any taste!

After the day is done, be sure to check out the entertainment and street dance at the beer garden located next to its sponsor, Good Fellows Restaurant, at Walker and 5th Street.  Don’t worry about a cover charge, Tommy Gate Manufacturing is sponsoring all the live entertainment at the Garden. So stop on in, relax with a brew, or kick up a heel or two. Either choice is a wonderful way to top off an unforgettable day at the Woodbine Applefest.

GENEALOGY EXPERIENCE

Since 1991, having been moved into Woodbine from its country location, Merry Brook School has been the home of the Harrison County Genelogical Society.  This society has come to be an important feature of Applefest. Each year they open their doors for the festival goers to explore the school and the passion that they share for history and geneology.  As a special treat, they procure a guest speaker (or two) to give a talk regarding a period of history. We encourage you to stop by, have a look around, and really soak up the magic that this place holds!

Car Show

Home to one of Iowa’s largest car shows, this spectacular event is a sight to see! The Applefest Car and Motorcycle Show attracts 350 to 400 different makes and models every year. We have an amazing assortment of modern, classic, vintage, sports cars, street rods, lead sleds, trucks, motorcycles, and one of a kind specialty cars. Tractor Show

What’s a fall festival without TRACTORS!

The Applefest Tractor Show offers all tractor enthusiasts and guests the opportunity to enjoy its display of vintage and collectible tractors from across the Loess Hills Region. Come join in the fun of seeing these classics up close. Spend some time with their owners as they regale their stories of each beast’s dominance over the dirt!

Craft Show

It wouldn’t be Applefest without out our grand Craft Show and Outdoor Market. Vendors from across the Midwest transport their wares to Woodbine just for you! The Craft Show is held indoors filling both gymnasiums at the Woodbine Community School Campus. Supporting up to 100 vendors, the show provides a unique opportunity for shoppers to find one-of-a-kind items and meet the people who made them. Grab a caramel apple and head indoors out of any adverse September weather (although we’re sure it’ll be sunny and warm…) and enjoy a wonderful selection of handmade items from local Artisans, Crafters and Makers!

Applefest normally draws 13 to 15 thousand visitors each year, making vendor booth foot traffic ideal.

It wouldn’t be Applefest without out our grand Craft Show and Outdoor Market. The Outdoor Market combines local vendors and bargain shopping with family fun!

Filling the streets of downtown Woodbine, over 60 vendor booths present their goods for your leisurely perusal. If you’re looking for locally grown food, clever craft items, or antiques and collectables, head to the Woodbine Applefest Outdoor Market.
