Blank Park Zoo’s Plant.Grow.Fly. and partners are pleased to announce the 2019 Monarch Festival!

The Monarch Festival will highlight the miraculous migration of the monarch butterfly and will offer everything from traditional Mexican dancing, monarch tagging and crafts and activities for the whole family. We will even have a Bug Parade, so dress the kids up in their favorite insect costume!

Join us as we celebrate the monarch’s journey from Canada, through Iowa, to the mountains of Mexico!

12:00pm - 2:00pm: Make your BUG PARADE costume! - By Prairie Dog Exhibit
12:00pm - 4:00pm: Monarch Tagging/Insect Hunts with Polk County Conservation - Zoo Butterfly Garden (across from Gibbon)
12:15pm: Professor Heinrich Broomschizer Tells About Monarchs - Large Pavilion
1:00pm: Jovenes Embajadores Mexican Dance Performance - By Prairie Dog Exhibit
2:00pm: Welcome
